The upcoming “Your Health, Your Voice!” campaign, set to begin in January 2025, aims to raise public awareness about health rights in Palestinian law while strengthening the skills of graduating law students in handling health-related legal cases.
In collaboration with the Legal Clinic at An-Najah National University and Médecins Sans Frontières, the initiative will be implemented in two stages. The first stage is a capacity-building training for law students who will engage in educational and training sessions about health in Palestinian law to address health-related legal issues, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to pass the knowledge on. The training will be provided by legal experts working in academic and practical settings and will be provided in the Legal Clinic located in the Old City of Nablus. The second stage will involve raising public awareness through direct interaction with law students who will have been trained in the first stage of the initiative.
Advocating for the right to health in both public and private sectors are essential practices in global health and a key pillar on which other practices are built. The iniative aims to bridge the gap of knowledge about laws and access to healthcare by providing both legal education and hands-on training.
